Maple River Energy, LLC
Soybean Crush • Biodiesel Manufacturing

Galva Holstein Ag, LLC began investigating the possibility of building a biodiesel manufacturing facility in 2005. After touring several Midwest plants and conducting a feasibility study, Maple River Energy, LLC was formed in August of 2006.  231 Iowa investors supported this project, by investing $10 million with Maple River Energy in just 80 days. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on July 18 with construction beginning the summer of 2007.

Maple River Energy will include a 3 million bushel soybean crush plant along with a 5 million gallon per year biodiesel manufacturing facility. Maple River Energy intends to become BQ9000 certified and produce high quality biodiesel meeting ASTM D 6751 specifications. Maple River Energy owns an option on 28.71 acres of land. Our proposed site, east of Quad County Corn Processors, has infrastructure in place including water, natural gas, electricity, and modern transportation.

The Maple River Energy Difference

• Control oil feedstock
• Purchase soybeans from area growers
• Crush 3 to 5 million bushels of Iowa soybeans
• Produce 75,000 tons of soybean meal
• Manufacture 5 million gallons of clean-burning biodiesel
• Yield 5 million pounds of glycerin
